Paper Preparation

When Printing, Coating or Laminating material for packaging or publication (and proprietary special uses) involving solvent based inks or coating materials, rapid response fire suppression  designed to the specific equipment configurations  is essential. Chemetron suppression systems offer this protection with experience in hundreds of installations that include protection of processing lines, including Gravure Printing, Flexographic Printing, Single and Multi-stage Coaters, with hazards including, but not limited to the following:

  •  Ink/Coating Material Supplies located adjacent to the process equipment.
  •  The Ink/Coating equipment (pans and applicators) located on the press/coater itself.
  •  Vapor Pick-up and Exhaust at the equipment.
  •  Associated Dryers and Fume Exhaust Systems, including VOC Control Equipment.

Each installation is engineered to the requirements of the equipment and the facility. For example: If there are lines adjacent to one another that could be considered "interexposing" hazards, or where the possibility exists that more than one hazard’s protection could be tripped at the same time, Chemetron designs to ensure the required protection is provided. IMPORTANT: In addition to rapid fire suppression concerns, each system design includes special features to ensure the safety of plant personnel. In many installations, protection is also afforded for the Ink Storage Rooms, Cylinder Washers, etc., from the same protection system.
